looking forward to october

It's almost May. I cannot believe the way this year is already flying by. I thought that by now my husband and I would be packing up all of our belongings in moving boxes and upgrading to a two bedroom apartment, but alas we remain in our cozy one bedroom until October when our lease will run out.
I wish we didn't have to think about moving but with the baby less than six months away from his first birthday, we really have to start considering a change. The truth is, even though I don't like the building we live in I love our apartment. My husband did a lot to fix the place up; painted the walls, put a new kitchen floor down, tiled the kitchen walls around the sink and stove, and built shelves inside the closets (of which we only have two).
But if we're going to move I'd like to change it up and live in a two family or three family apartment. Multi-dwelling apartment buildings have their advantages - you can pretty much keep to yourself with no one getting into your business, but the big disadvantage is the noise and the traffic coming in and out of the building. Also not knowing what your neighbors are up to until the cops show up one night can be nerve wracking.

The baby is sleeping better through the night now. I opted not to use any cry it out methods and have simply accepted the fact that my husband and I will have to continue waking up every two to three hours to rock, soothe, or help him back to sleep with the pacifier when he is unable to do it on his own. He is getting better though at finding the pacifier and putting it back in his mouth, which has been fantastic!
We took a walk today and he did quite well. He didn't have a meltdown. I'm so excited, you have no idea.

it's good for him to get out of the apartment and realize there are other people in the world! Thanks for your note!!
