My son is doing much better, thank god, and thank you all who wrote me emails and comments expressing concern. I really was shaken by the change in his personality the day following his vaccination. I don't think I was overreacting. It seems to be something that happens to many babies. I believe it has something to do with the amount of toxins their littles bodies are subjected to. Fortunately I have him on an alternative vaccine schedule so he is never exposed to more than two shots in one visit and each visit is a month apart. It shudder to think about what kind of reaction he may have had if he's received the usual five shots recommended by the American Pediatric Association.

Yesterday because I had a terrible headache most of the day and couldn't shake it. I have never been one to take pills unless absolutely necessary. I took the usual Tylenol and when that didn't help I didn't know what to do.
I recently read somewhere that doctors are now prescribing Botox for migraines. Now, I'm adverse to getting shots of anything unless absolutely necessary. But yesterday I was so desperate I might have been willing to try it just about anything. It's good to know it's useful for something other than giving people youthful but expressionless faces!

I recently joined Mommy Community. Every Tuesday they have a thing called Tuesday Toot. It's when you toot your own horn about something you're proud about, something most of us feel a bit awkward doing. But you know, I didn't have to give this one a lot of thought. Plain and simply I'm proud that I'm still breastfeeding my son. I made a vow that I would breastfeed him at least until he was six months old. Now he's almost seven months old and we're still going strong. Although my supply was beginning to diminish a bit, I started increasing my fluid intake and it really helped. Breastfeeding is the best thing you can do for your baby. This year the number of breastfed babies hit a NEW HIGH in the US. I'm not surprised based on what I experienced at the hospital following the birth of my son. Nurses were quite persistant, aggressive even, in their quest to educate mothers about the benefits and how-to's of breastfeeding.
This is not to say that moms who have chosen to formula feed their children, for whatever reason, are bad parents. Afterall I was formula fed and turned out just fine. I think you really have to enjoy it. And a lot of this is determined those first few days of your babies life.
I was very lucky my son latched on so easily. Had he not who knows how things may have turned out.
I wonder what determines a child's ability to root for the nipple and latch on. Why are some born with a more natural reflex than others? Is it genetic?

I'm still waiting for my new Baby Jogger Stroller. They just shipped it yesterday so it should be arriving any day now! I haven't been this excited about something since the arrival of my wedding dress that I bought off of Ebay for a mere $300!!!

My husband and I are doing better. The last time we had sex I expressed the desire to feel "swept away" again. In other words I was tired of just laying on the sofa and going through the motions. I wanted to feel ravaged. Men sometimes forget that for women most of our ability to be stimulated takes place in our minds. We have to feel that oure needs and desires are being met and understood and that everything is okay in the relationship in order for us to relax and enjoy.
For men it's not so complicated. They're more visual creatures. It really doesn't take much. I envy that.
Anyway, the last time we made love it was great. I won't go into details, but I was really pleased with the results.

The baby is crying now so I have to go. He's still teething and it's gotten worse. His ability to nap for long periods is back to a half hour at once time. I think this has something to do with whatever pain he's experiencing from teething. Poor little bub.
